Simone Samms
Product Leader. Growth Driver. Team Builder.

Curious product and growth leader at the intersection of people, data, and AI. I connect customers, engineers, and executives and turn the need behind the need into strategy, shipped product, and revenue growth. As passionate about building great teams as I am about building great products: helping cross-functional leaders get the right people in the right seats and run organizations that actually work. 20+ yrs across SaaS, IoT & AI/ML · 100% renewal, 30% sales growth.

My Path

How I Found Product Management

My path to Product Management wasn't linear. It was built on something more valuable than a straight line: 20+ years of being the person closest to the customer.

I started at Clear Channel Outdoor in marketing, where I got my first real education in what moves people: understanding audiences, translating data into decisions, and learning that the best ideas come from watching what customers actually do, not just what they say.

From there, I spent over a decade at Arbitron and Nielsen as a Training Services Consultant and Sr. Account Manager in New York. Those years taught me a skill I still rely on every day: listening for the need behind the need. Clients rarely tell you exactly what they want — they tell you their symptoms. I learned to translate.

At ACTIVE Network, I started as a Strategic Account Manager managing a $20M enterprise portfolio that included the United States Tennis Association's custom registration software, TennisLink, built and managed by ACTIVE. With gaps in headcount, I found myself jumping in to fill both the Product Management and Project Manager roles for that account, owning requirements, managing the engineering team, and driving delivery. That's when it clicked. Product Management was where I was meant to be.

By late 2019, I made it official and became Manager of Product for ACTIVEnet, ACTIVE's $70M Recreation & Membership management software serving over 1,800 Parks & Recreation departments and YMCAs across the country. That same year, I was named Product Manager of the Year, an award voted on by leadership and cross-functional team members. It felt less like recognition and more like confirmation. This was always where I was headed.

I came to ENTOUCH to build the product management function from the ground up. Before building anything, I spent time learning the business and earning the trust of the team. That foundation led to a strategy built around what made ENTOUCH uniquely positioned: billions of IoT data points sitting untapped. I made the case for an AI-first product vision, got executive buy-in, and led delivery of the ENTelligent Insights suite: four production AI/ML models that turn raw sensor data into proactive intelligence for multi-site enterprise customers.

The through-line across every role, every company, every industry? An unwavering focus on the customer experience. Whether training sales teams, managing enterprise accounts, or shipping AI models, what drives me has always been the same: get close to the customer, understand their real problems, and build something that actually fixes them.

Core Strengths

What I Bring

A rare combination of deep customer empathy, data fluency, commercial acumen, and technical collaboration across hardware, SaaS, IoT, and AI/ML — turning product vision into growth.

AI Adoption & Systems Integration

Led AI/ML adoption across the ENTOUCH organization, setting the company-wide standard for how we build with and use AI tools. Directed the build of an internal MCP server and led major integrations across CMMS, utility billing, demand response, and air quality platforms. My product philosophy: deploy AI where it creates genuine value for customers and teams, not because it's what everyone else is doing.

Product Strategy

Built and own portfolio-wide product strategy at ENTOUCH, from the AI-first product vision to the full platform roadmap. Skilled at translating strategy into buy-in at every level: from the CEO and board to engineers and customers. Conceived and shipped four production AI/ML models as a direct result of that strategic case. Maintained a 100% customer renewal rate while growing sales 30% during my tenure leading product strategy.

Voice of the Customer

Built my foundation in client services and research. I don't just gather feedback; I listen for the need behind the need, and then turn it into a roadmap engineering can execute against.

Data-Driven Decisions

Economics background + 20 years of quantitative and qualitative research. I use data to build the case, tell the story, and translate ambiguous cross-org questions into clear direction.

Continuous Discovery

I manage product portfolios by staying attuned to market signals and customer behavior, not just internal roadmaps. I set clear Governance Objectives so teams know what success looks like and when to change course. When signals shift, I move quickly: accelerating what's working, abandoning what isn't, and redirecting resources without hesitation.

Team Building & People Development

Trained Predictive Index practitioner and champion across ENTOUCH. Used for hiring, team building, and conflict resolution. I coach managers on using PI insights for employee growth and work directly with employees on self-awareness and career development.

Career

Where I've Been

A career arc built on customer proximity, data fluency, and a consistent pattern of operating beyond the job description: solving the product problem, the org problem, and the people problem at the same time.

VP of Product Management
2022 – Present

My role at ENTOUCH has never been narrowly defined by a title. In practice, I operate across product, sales strategy, cross-functional operations, and organizational leadership, making decisions with a view of the entire business rather than just the product org.

Product & AI: Conceived, pitched, and led delivery of the ENTelligent Insights suite, convincing the CEO and executive leadership to commit to an AI-first product vision and rebrand the platform around it. Currently directing the build of an internal MCP server. Set the company-wide AI adoption standard in 2026 and drove the engineering org's integration of AI development tooling.

Sales & Go-to-Market: Partner directly with Sales on deal strategy, customer conversations, and positioning, translating product capabilities into revenue outcomes and helping close strategic accounts.

Operations & Cross-Functional Leadership: Author strategy and decision documents that resolve ambiguous, cross-organizational questions: build vs. integrate, what to do now vs. later, where to allocate constrained resources. Present roadmap, business impact, and strategic direction to the CEO, board, and executive leadership.

Team Building & Conflict Resolution: Championed Predictive Index across the organization for hiring, team dynamics, and conflict resolution. Get the right people in the right seats. Coach managers on PI for employee growth and work directly with employees on self-awareness and development.

Building with AI/ML

When I joined ENTOUCH, the company was sitting on billions of IoT data points with no strategy for turning them into proactive insights. I pitched the AI-first vision to the CEO, got the commitment, and led delivery. I turned it into our core market differentiator.

The result was the ENTelligent Insights suite: four production AI/ML models delivering predictive maintenance alerts, energy optimization and comfort recommendations, as well as system error analysis for enterprise customers managing thousands of retail sites.

I'm currently directing the build of an internal MCP server to expose ENTOUCH's IoT data through AI-powered dashboards, giving Customer Success and internal teams direct access to product insights. We're currently testing internally, with plans to release externally for direct customer use.

At the start of 2026, I set the company-wide standard for AI tool adoption and drove the engineering org's integration of AI development tooling. That's organizational change management, not just product work.

ENTelligent Weather

Adjusts HVAC setpoints based on upcoming weather events along with unit performance to keep team members and customers comfortable while ensuring buildings stay at an optimal temperature regardless of outside air temperature.

ENTelligent Transition

Picks the optimal time to transition from vacant to occupied setpoints and back, taking into account outside air temperature, current unit performance, and other key data points. Clients saw a 35% reduction in HVAC runtime with this feature.

ENTelligent Maintenance

Proactive maintenance alerting that catches equipment degradation signals before customers experience failures or downtime, saving them from costly emergency truck rolls or site closures due to site temperature.

Sensor Error

Model used to determine whether a sensor error is legitimate or if a sensor just needs to be adjusted, reducing unnecessary maintenance dispatches.

Board Member and Registration / Technology Lead for Femmes Gravel, a community dedicated to inspiring and educating femmes to grow on and off the bike by building community through gravel cycling. I get to combine my passion for the endurance sports industry and my love of cycling with my tech skills to help our organization get more femmes on bikes.

Endurance sports have shaped how I work. Training for triathlon and gravel racing taught me to build a plan, execute it, and adapt when conditions change, the same discipline I bring to product. There's something unique about training alongside others while pursuing your own goals: you push each other without losing sight of your own race. That balance of community and individual accountability is something I carry into every team I build.
